Here is how it works!

¯ Email or mail me a copy of your floor plan, include decks, garages, sheds and porches.

Feng Shui & Fashion

Feng Shui and Fashion

I am often asked how to combine Feng Shui and fashion, especially in choosing what to wear for specific activities and occasions. My initial answer is that it depends on where you are going, what you will do when you get there, and what image you need to project. In general, I recommend you chose the color, pattern, fabric, and shape of your clothes based on the Five Element theory in Feng Shui. When you wear a specific Element, you project its attributes. The colors you wear not only affect your emotions, but influence how others judge and respond to you.

The “Five Elements” is the name that Feng Shui principles give to the colors, shapes, and textures around you. The Elements are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, and each has a characteristic color, shape, and attributes. For example, if you need to feel stable and grounded, wear the browns and yellows of the Earth Element. If you want to feel exciting and dramatic, wear the passionate reds and oranges of the Fire Element.

Here is a detailed list of the colors, patterns, fabrics, and shapes the represent each Feng Shui Element.

If you are involved in social or communication-related activities or want to feel dramatic, wear the Fire Element.
Colors: Red, orange, purple
Patterns: Pointed designs, animal prints
Fabrics: Satin and shiny textures
Shapes: Angular and form fitting

If you are involved in the community or family-oriented activities or want to feel stable, grounded, and essential, wear the Earth Element.
Colors: Brown, yellow, terra cotta
Patterns: Checks, plaids
Fabrics: Tweed, flannel, textured
Shapes: Boxy

If you are involved with cultural activities or want to feel elegant and stand apart, wear the Metal Element.
Colors: White, pastel, metallic
Patterns: Round, dots, scrolls
Fabrics: Polished, glittery, shiny
Shapes: Curvy

If you are involved in artistic, intellectual, and spiritual activities, or want to feel elegant and project strength, wear the Water Element.
Colors: Black, navy, deep blue
Patterns: Wavy, paisley, abstract
Fabrics: Sheer, chiffon, velvet
Shapes: Flowing

If you are involved in health-related or athletic activities or want to feel energized and active, wear the Wood Element.
Colors: Green, blue
Patterns: Vertical patterns and stripes
Fabrics: Cotton, linen, ribbed fabrics
Shapes: Columnar shapes

Do you have a favorite color you love wearing? Here are some examples of how the color you wear sends a message about you:

*Red is the ideal color when you want to draw attention to yourself. Wear red when you speak in public or want to stand out from the crowd. Avoid red if you are nervous or are self-conscious.

*Pink is the color of romance and fun. Wear pink if you want to resolve a situation with a loved one, because it is soothing and helps dissolve feelings of anger.

*Yellow conveys stability so you can wear it when you have an important decisions to make, but avoid yellow when you are feeling tired or it might drain your energy levels.

*Green projects growth and development. This is a great color to wear when learning new skills, taking classes, or when you need to be energized. Avoid wearing green when you are restless because it is a stimulating color.

*Brown is a grounding and comforting color that you can wear if you feel scared or insecure. Brown makes you feel safe, but avoid wearing it when dealing with stubborn people.

*Black conveys authority and power, and promotes a sense of depth and strength. Wear black if you need to command leadership or exude mystery. Black makes you stand apart from the crowd, so avoid wearing it when you need to be seen as an equal.

Remember, when it comes to Feng Shui and fashion, you are what you wear.

Energy Shift- Mercury Retrograde

I have been feeling a shift in energy and looked it up. And indeed, Mercury retrograde starts April 17th and ends May 11. So this doesn’t mean get depressed and frustrated. It means be aware that there will be communication challenges and the more challenges we each have is because there is a lesson that we haven’t learned and that we are creating that block. Go with the flow and be mindful to be very clear in our own communication and intention and we will all be fine during this energy shift.

Feng Shui Eyes

Feng Shui Eyes
Did you know that everything around you is alive and talking to you? When I say ‘talking to you’, this means how does an object for example, resonate in your heart. What is your furniture saying? What does your art say? Does it make you happy or sad, bring joy or guilt? Do you have rooms in your home or office that you spend more time in than others? I’d like to tell you a little about Feng Shui and how, through Feng Shui eyes, you can create harmony and balance in your home or office.
Feng Shui is the Ancient Chinese art of placement. This simply means that through strategic placement of items in your home you can create and achieve what you desire in life. Your home is your place of rejuvenation, nourishment, and family time. If your home is out of balance, you tend to be out of balance.
So how do you go about achieving balance in your home or office? In Form Feng Shui we use what is called the Bagua Map, which originates from the I Ching and has eight trigrams, or “special areas of life.” We use the Bagua as a tool to locate these special areas and enhance them. For example, the far left corner of the Bagua is your Wealth and Prosperity area. We can enhance this area to help bring in more abundance. Place something in that corner that makes you feel wealthy; an expensive piece of art, a coin collection, or a water fountain. Water represents wealth in Feng Shui. Wealth can be in many forms, not just money. Are there boxes of stuff in this corner or a messy closet? Too many boxes that are unorganized become clutter. We look at clutter as holding you back in life. Think about it, if you go into a room or office that has stacks of papers and books and to do lists, do you feel overwhelmed and frustrated? Most people do. Most people are easily distracted. An organized and clean office helps people concentrate. This is called clutter and you can see how it affects your mind. Clutter blocks us from achieving our highest potential. Why are we holding onto so many things, especially when we live in such an abundant world?
Feng Shui gives your home or office a facelift. Using your style, I create balance and harmony in your space. If you are looking for a more relaxing living room or need more energy in your office, we can achieve this through Feng Shui: using color, shapes, textures, command position, and aligning with your goals. I work with your furniture and can help you in choosing new furniture to replace or to add to a space. I look at the energy flow inside your home as well as outside. When you come home you want to love driving up to your home, parking and walking through your front door and feel that you have arrived home to your personal oasis to be nourished. You want to go outside and love your backyard and enjoy your time outside. Feng Shui creates that balance!

Feng Shui Tip on Beams

I have had a lot of people ask me recently… “what do I do about a beam on my ceiling?” The best thing you can do with a beam is to blend it into the ceiling so it doesn’t feel like you have a heavy beam hanging over you or that it is chopping the room and furniture in half. Painting a beam to match the ceiling color does wonders!
